The Ritter family has been involved in farming,
especially growing tomatoes since the early 1970's. Ritter Farms is
a second-generation family farm owned and operated by Stanley and
Tonya Ritter. In addition to those great-tasting Grainger County
tomatoes, the Ritters' grow a variety of garden vegetables which can

John Mixon Farms
John Mixon Farms is a small family owned and operated by
John and Rhonda Mixon, located on Lakeshore Road in the heart of the
Grainger County tomato belt in Rutledge, Tennessee. John and
Rhonda have been growning tomes for the last twenty years, with the
help of their two sons, Jonathon, age 19 and Joseph, age 14.
The Mixon family farms about 200 acres where they have grown
watermelon, green beans, corn, peppers, pumpkins, cucumbers, and
strawberries, but specialize in tomatoes. People often ask why
Grainger County tomatoes taste so good and I have heard lots of
answers. The truth we have found is this: God just grows
good tomatoes in Grainger County! |
